Today, Buffalo Nations across Montana and the Northern Plains are again embracing food sovereignty as one path to reconnecting with their cultural identity. The Buffalo Nations Food System Initiative empowers Indigenous people to define food systems that provide healthy and culturally connected food, produced through invests in education and conducts research in support of intertribal food sovereignty.
